    Dafne Luna (she, her, hers, and ella in Spanish) is a queer first-generation Mexican American from Southern California. She has background in Latinx student support, LGBTQ+ activism, and body liberation advocacy. Dafne earned her B.A. in Gender Studies and M.A. Chicana/o/x and Central American Studies from UCLA. Throughout her doctorate work, Dafne, explored how educational spaces can apply inclusive practices for fat, queer, people of color and expand accessibility for neurodivergent individuals. Additionally, she taught at UCLA and different community organizations across Southern California and worked with the LGBTQ+ youth community in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    Dafne has been at the University of Richmond for four years in various capacities. She started in the inaugural role of Assistant Director for Latinx Student Support and Multicultural Programming at the Student Center for Equity and Inclusion. She now works as the Assistant Director at the Hub for Student Inclusion and Community. In her roles, Dafne has worked to identify the barriers to community development within the Latinx and multicultural student population on campus. Through implementing inclusive cultural enrichment programs, she’s helped Latinx students develop a sense of empowerment and cultural affinity. Through her multicultural work, Dafne centers cultural exchange opportunities for all students, providing them with the space to build their capacity for self-efficacy and community building.
